Worship on Alpha
We've had a few people asking what songs we're doing this Autumn on Alpha at HTB, so here are some song ideas for the first few weeks:
1
O Lord My God (A)
Give Thanks (Forever) (A)
2
Amazing Grace (E)
Holy (Lift Up His Name) (E)
3
Give Thanks (Forever) (A)
Holy (Lift Up His Name) (E)
4
Amazing Grace (E)
Light of the World (E)
5
Here is Love (E)
Open the Eyes of my Heart (E)
Then from the weekend onwards, we'll begin introducing some more of the songs we'd use normally in church:
Blessed be your name (B)
Happy Day (C)
Over All The Earth (C)
Almighty God (A)
Glorious (E)
How Great is Our God (B)
I've Found A Love (Bb)
You Chose the Cross (Bb)
This Is My Desire (G)
Majesty (G)
I'm Giving You My Heart (G)
Faithful One (D)
Everything (B)
Worship The Lord (G)
We're using a band on this course as it's a few hundred people and the average age is young, so that seems to connect really well. It's obviously worth bearing in mind if you're on your own with an old piano that some of the songs may work less well, or you may have to drop the key down a bit.
Leading worship on Alpha is a really exciting place to lead worship - we love seeing people's faith come alive and the times of worship allow people to connect with God and express their thankfulness. Although it can be quite scary in the first few week, it's always a key part of any course for us.
Have fun!
