Passion For Your Banjo

Just arrived back from 'Passion For Your Name'. It was great to be there and see what was going on, hear talks, and catch-up with friends. I've attached some notes from a couple of sessions below.
This was the last ever PFYN event, with worshipcentral kicking-off in the Autumn. On that front it was really fun: I chatted to Johnny Parks, Lex Buckley and Martyn Layzell for the podcast, (all of which will come out in various episodes across the year), led worship at one late-night session and did a Fresh Cafe thingy with Johnny Parks and Tim.
In between meetings, everytime I stepped out of the door, the heavens seemed to open. It was like the rain had a score to settle after such a long hot Summer. Nasty, nasty. The venue flooded once at the start of the week and then only avoided repeat flooding by a bank of sandbags and earth.
However, it was hugely encouraging to see God at work in people's lives through the whole week, with some amazing times of worship, great teaching and ministry.
We're now under a month away from our first day of the Autumn, and it feels like its going to flow on from Passion nicely, with Tre Shepperd, Tim, Graham Tomlin, Terl Bryant, Nick Herbert, and Rachel Hughes speaking.
Meanwhile Tim and I are about to give in to the demands of a previous post and go head-to-head in an epic Banjo Showdown live on the next Podcast, along with the Brian Doerksen Interview and a great new song from Ben Cantelon.

that photo is priceless - soon to be seen on a church stage near you....
i hope not. Actually, if we're talking about wroship leaders you don't want, a banjodeer is slightly in front of the ukelele orchestra of Great Britain....
