India - Day Three

It's been an awesome day of seeing God at work. We've held meetings at churches in two cities, and both times the Holy Spirit came...

First thing in the morning we preached at a church in Ahmedabad, Anthea shared her testimony, then I spoke on the Holy Spirit and then the whole team were involved in leading a time of prayer ministry. It was cool, with about 400 people of all ages there. Their youth band led the worship, banging out Bangra tunes. Ayee.

Then we drove with Jimmy (below), our coordinator, the two hours to Baroda, our first conference location. Here we settled into the hotel, I realised I'd left all my talks in Ahmedabad, so had to blag the evening slightly.

They had arranged an open meeting for the whole city-wide churches and we had several hundred people turn-up, even though it was during India's crucial final in the Cricket Cup. Ali led some worship, we did the same stuff as the morning, talking about the Spirit and ministering together.

This time the power of God seemed to come much more tangibly, and loads of people were filled with the Spirit & received the gift of tongues. It was awesome.

We got all the youth forward and the rest of the meeting pray for them to be empowered by God for his work. Then we sent them out to pray for the elders, and they were so scared, we literally had to prod them off the stage and down the aisles. It was the coolest thing seeing these shy kids praying for the adults and the power of God coming. It was so healthy. I don't think any of them had done much ministry in the power of the Holy Spirit before, so it was very fun explaining everything.

We left in time to get back to the hotel and grab another extraordinary hot curry - we're on three a day. It is still 35c at night... very hot! Here's Andy and Ali trying to eat the food.

Can't wait for the bhangra styles to hit HTB upon your return :-)

Al at the next worship central day how about leading the first session playing a sitar :-)

Seriously thjough great to hear it's going well.
