Hoosiers at No. 1

A friends band have just taken No 1 in the UK album chart with their debut album and my guitar is on the record! My moment of fame has arrived!!!

If you've not bought the Hoosier's album 'The Trick to Life' you need to turn your computer off, get out of the house and hand over your cash for the freshest, most exciting and utterly genial album you've heard in a long time. I'm so excited for these guys.

And I'm fully intending to milk my rock and roll moment: when the guys were recording they borrowed a guitar of mine, an old dust covered Rickenbacker, as well as few bits from our resident axe master Tim Last's treasure trove.

The ironic thing is that when I bought the guitar originally, the shop were really proud of the fact that it had featured on Reef's recording of 'Get Your Hands Up' (anyone remember that?). It's just done the double! I should really get it framed and hung on the wall next to my swimming badges and signed photo of Tim Hughes.

I'm off to stand outside Virgin Megastore with the guitar and a T-Shirt saying featured on the Hoosier's album. Humility will have to wait until Tuesday, I fully intend to milk my 0.0004 seconds of reflected fame.

Wow. You have swimming badges! Impressive.

I have to say, please do not tarry in basking in the moment-I mean how many have had their guitars featured in a no. 1 album in their absence :)

Mate so sorry - but just been using your electric at church tonight and have snapped the neck! Sorry to break the news like this. Probably good for you not to get too attached to possessions though hey!

I reckon you signed that picture of Tim yourself...

Love this band! They make a refreshing change.

Tim, you're the best! Nothing compares to your track... 'Holding Nothing Back'.. that should be number 1! I'm spreading the word around on your music.

Love

Hi al, just want to say congratulations on the birth of your son! i came to last years worship central with a group from northern ireland. we really learnt a lot and are so thankful for the time and energy you and Tim put into those days and also for the heart you have for raising up musicians and worship leaders for God. We really regret that we can't come this year, but hope that it is as much of a success as last year.

God Bless

I know how you feel Al. Sting once played my Fender Precisionin the studio way way back when recording the 1st Police Album. I knew him as plain old Gordon Summner at the time and did not realise what an opportunity I had!

Anyway, sadly soon after my car engine blew up and I had to sell my trusty axe to buy a new engine.

Suffice it to say I am glad I sold it as its not good to worship wooden idols is it Chapz?

Keep on in Gods groove .....

Jack Bruce [aka jack weeks]

My brother and i used to play in an 'indie' band (as i believe the younsters call it these days) in the 80's. We had played on the mainstage at Greenbelt in 82(?) and U2 turned up and played a surprise set at the end of the evening. They used our gear - i still have the H&H amp that The Edge played through (probably).

My Bass Drum features both on a #1 album (Athlete's Tourist) and the original recording of Graham Kendrick's Shine Jesus Shine ... top that :-)!
