FOCUS

We just got back from an amazing week with our church in Suffolk, highlights included loads of people getting healed and some amazing times of worship.

Every year we go away on a church holiday, kind of like a mini Soul Survivor or New Wine, for 1800 members of the congregation. The site is a holiday camp on the beach, and this year the weather was sensational. Sun every day, loads of BBQ's and hanging on the beach.

We had some awesome teaching from Brother Andrew, Pete Greig, Pastor Agu, Jo Saxton, Mike Pilavachi and loads of others.

One of the big highlights was the number of healings we saw through the week. We saw some people healed from some pretty serious medical conditions that had been effecting them for years, one was even healed without noticing during their baptism in the sea! We're hoping to do a bit of special report on this soon, so I'll try and remember to post the link next month.

Another cool thing was the sense of engagement in the times of worship and during the ministry times. It was honestly one of the most powerful weeks I can remember, which is an exciting sign that God is on the move and a real encouragement to be hungry for God.

I'm now packing for a bit of a holiday later this week, which should be good. I'll try and blog a bit, but it may be a bit random over the next couple of weeks.

Wow it's amazing what you miss by not going to the main meetings lol. Only managed to get to the end of the prayer tunnel night. Still had a great time though, look forward to hearing more about what happened at focus that I didn't know about :)

I was at New Wine North (of Watford) in Newark last week, and I witnessed similar healings and hunger for God in worship - Now how do we keep ourselves open for all of this and more when we get back into our home situations?!!!!

Good point, during the prayer tunnel night I was pondering to myself. The reason they do special things like the prayer tunnel at focus is because there is apparently more 'freedom'. But surely that's wrong, why should the church in any way limit what God wants to do on a Sunday? We seem to get it in our minds that God can only do something special at big events like Focus, New Wine and Soul Survivor. That we can experiment and do 'wacky' things during those weeks, but not the rest of the year.

Why why why? Church shouldn't be any different on that week to the rest of the year.

Emmy- from HTB, came to Guernsey recently and led a ministry weekend. It culminated in her leading our church in a 'prayer tunnel' during our new 'Worship Cafe' evening service. IT WAS AMAZING! so radical for Guernsey! but the whole congregation got involved in praying and being prayed for, it was such a blessing! We just need someone with the courage to 'take us out of the box' Yeah Emmy! :)
