10 Days to Go - 13JAN07
If you're coming down for our first Worship Central Saturday of 2007, here's what's going to be happening. If you'd like to bring extra people there are still a few tickets available
here. So here's the latest plan for the day:
10am – Doors Open, come inside out of the cold and have a nice cup of coffee, collect your tickets and grab the best seats. Our brilliant HTB Bookshop are also opening especially for you lot. They also have a whole load of Matt Redman's new CD's on sale. They're in the crypt.
11am – Main Morning Celebration
kicks-off with worship, teaching and ministry.
1pm – Lunch is up to you: Tim’s recommendation for January is a pie from ‘Eat’ (opposite Harrods), whereas I’d recommend grabbing a booth at ‘Leon’ (L at the end of the drive) and going for their chicken wrap. You’ve got a good hour and a half to hang out together as a team, catch-up with friends and chase that sandwich down with a coffee. Nice.
2.30pm – Workshops
We have a choice of two out of three workshop streams for you to get to. Classy.
Encounter – Mike Lloyd (a.k.a. ‘Dr Evil’) will be explaining how we can make sense of the reality of the world and reflect this in our worship. Not to be missed.
Equip – Keyboard Lab – Ben Cantelon will be revealing all his secrets in this very practical session looking at Keys and Loops.
Empower – profound insights from the legend we call Stuart Townend.
3.30pm – Coffee
We'll make it for you and we'll make it hot. There may also be biscuits.
4pm – Workshops repeat
5pm – Live Lounge – We have a sofa. And some chairs. We’re very very proud of them and like them to be involved in all our Worship Central days. I’ll be joined by some of our special guests for an informal chat over a cuppa. Bring your questions along.
6pm – Doors Open for the evening session.
6.30pm – Main Evening Celebration with loads of worship, teaching, ministry and room for us to encounter God, be equipped and go back and make a difference in our churches.
8.30pm – Time to go home and catch ‘Match of the Day’.
Here's a little bit about some of our guest speakers and leaders at the day:
Mike Pilavachi - the original Greek - is the founder of Soul Survivor and a great friend of ours. As Worship Central is being run as a partnership between HTB and Soul Survivor, Mike is really involved in all that we're doing and we’re really looking forward to having Mike with us again.

Stuart Townend is an amazing guy: as a worship leader, his songs are loved by the church around the world, and include ‘In Christ Alone’, ‘How Deep the Father’s Love’ and ‘Beautiful Saviour’. He’s also very wise and will be sharing as much of that wisdom as we can squeeze out of him on the day.

Ben Cantelon is the Worship Pastor of Soul Survivor Watford and leads worship at the Summer Festivals. Alongside this, Ben is a keyboard maestro, playing at Soul Survivor for the past few years. Among other things, Ben will be sharing his secrets on how to get the most out of the keyboards in worship. He's also Canadian, but that's ok.
29th Chapter are spearheading urban worship in this country and are doing some very cool stuff working in schools in London and around the place. They’ve led worship at the Soul Survivor festivals and recently ‘Blinged’ our very own Mr Hughes as a special feature on the Soul Survivor Live ‘Love Came Down’ Bonus DVD. They'll be joining us to lead worship on the day.

Mike Lloyd is an exceptionally tall theologian, whose height is an indication of his brain power. He’s a self confessed expert on evil (in an academic sense) and will be unpacking ‘The Fall, the Problem of Evil’ and how this relates to our worship. We’re thrilled to have him with us. He’s written a great book called ‘Café Theology’ which Tim claims is the only book on theology I've ever read. Whatever.
We're really looking forward to seeing you on the day - if you've got people you want to bring, make sure they book in here as soon as possible.
